At Manchester Digital we like to interview our members to find out a bit more about what they do and their work in the Greater Manchester digital and technology sphere. This week we're speaking with Hector Macandrew and Nicola Weedall, co-founders of cashflow startup Hydr.
What does your organisation do?
We have created a proprietary software platform designed to make applying for invoice finance quick, straightforward and transparent.
Done well, invoice finance is a terrific growth hack for SMEs: rather than having to wait out the payment terms of the invoices you issue, our platform enables you to receive 100% of those invoice values (minus our fixed fee) within 24 hours. No hassle, no fuss, just great cashflow!
What do you think is currently the biggest issue facing the digital and tech industry?
Rather than issues, we see huge opportunity in the digital and tech industries. The silver lining of that unpleasant cloud which was the pandemic is the acceleration of the adoption of cloud-based technologies and OpenBanking, enabling companies like ours to offer new and far more effective propositions to support SMEs. There has never been a better time to be part of the digital and tech industries!
What is your organisation’s biggest achievement?
We are very proud to be on our launch partner, Xero’s, app store - find us here.
We worked very hard with Xero to ensure our product exceeded their quality standards - few companies in our space have received this accreditation.
For us, this is an important message to the market that we are valued and trusted by one of the largest cloud accounting software providers out there.
What would you consider to be your organisation’s biggest challenge?
Growth – winning those customers and delighting them with our service, every day.
What do you think the future looks like for Manchester’s digital and tech sector?
Extremely bright – we love being based in Manchester, contributing to its role as a centre for technology innovation in the UK.
